Matthew 16:19-Reference-Matthew 18:18-John 20:23

Binding on earth-Bound in heaven

Loose on earth-Loosed in heaven

I have pondered and prayed over scripture like Matthew 16:19;Matthew 18:18; and John 20:23;

This morning I did some studying on these verses. My Bible has references and the one's I found were the one's I wrote above. John 20:23 is reference for Matthew 16:19; It speaks of forgiveness.

But the scripture in the two Matthew verses speak of the keys to the kindom and about binding and being bound and loosed. May some of us have the meaning right; Some may have it wrong, it's been laying on my heart for months, so my bible (the word of God) gave me a few things it could mean. In someway all of these verses go together.They speak of forgiveness, binding, bound, and loose or loosed. This is what I found. But first if you have any knowledge or understanding of these verses, I would love to hear from you.

Could binding and loosing refer to the decisions of the church in conflict?

Among believers, there is no courts of appeals beyond the church. The church's decisions should be God-guided and based on discernment's of His Word. Believers have the responsibility to bring their problems to the church, the church's responsibility to use God's guidance in seeking to resolve conflicts. Handling problems God's ways will have an impact now and for eternity. (notes from niv study bible)

Questions-What is it that we can bind on earth?

What do we loose on earth?

What will be loosed in heaven?

Look up the word loose- it means to set free: To forgive. This is what it says to do in John 20:23. So what do all these verses have in common?

Forgiveness Maybe?

Do we bind forgiveness so it can be bound in heaven?

Does it really mean about conflict in the church? I need some explanation on this ..
