Death, How Can We Not Fear?
When we were born we are not mature enough to know about death, love, sin, or living. All we know is food, messy diapers, crying and sleeping. As we grow and mature we start learning differant things . We even learn to focus on what we want and need, we even desire things we shouldn't and also do things we shouldn't do. We tend to think sin isn't sin, even when we don't know what sin is, we do it. As we grow and mature we gain alot of things, fear, love, hate, and lots more. We start wondering about death and we become afraid of the unknown.
Jesus proved His power over death; John 12:23-25.
This is a beautiful picture of the necessary sacrifice of Jesus. Unless a kernal of wheat is buried in the ground, it will not become a blade of wheat producing many more seeds. Jesus had to die to pay the penalty for our sin, but also to show His power over death. His resurrection proves He has eternal life. Because Jesus is God.
Jesus can give this same eternal life to all who believe in Him. (Notes;) (above this is from NIV Bible study notes.)
If we are not ready to die, we are not ready to live, Phil. 1:20-21. To people who don't believe in God, this world and things in it is all they have, they strive to live for life's pleasure's and they never have satisfaction. When we have a relationship with Christ we need not fear death, in Psalm 16:10 it says because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. Unbelievers fear death; Proverbs 10:24 says, what the wicked dreads will overtake him; what the righteous desire will be granted.
At times in my life I to sometimes fear death, but I feel it is my old nature creeping in on me. I'm sure some Christians have feared death at times but when we start believing what Christ says about it, it puts a joy in my heart. We all have times of sorrow, but remember, Jesus overcame the world, we can overcome our fear because He conquered death.

As long as we are here on earth, our flesh is going to be in constant warfare with our spirit. I too, being a christian have this fear at times. Then like you said, when I quit dwelling on the flesh part of it, the fear leaves. This hub is a great hub and I thank you so much for it. God bless you.
Betty---Praying You have a very safe Happy New Year in 2010!
I enjoyed reading this, thank you so much for posting it. Having been hospitalized three times now since August with new diagnosis on my heart the beginning of December that I will have to tolerate this read inspired me. I've not been afraid of death since 2007. That was the year my mother, oldest son and sister passed. I'm a believer - and bless you & yours for a healthy, happy new year ahead.
I don't remember ever being scared of death. But then I came to know the Lord very young. What I have been afraid of is failing my family by dying too soon or wasting the time I have.
Praise God we still have this promise though:
Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Very nice hub. and God Bless You Dear heart on this wonderful Sunday morning.

A great reminder that our Love for Christ and His promises relieves us of fear. As you said, yes, it will creep upon us in a variety of ways as Satan wants us to distrust God. We rejoice that any fears, doubts or anything else that would threaten our relationship with our Father, must go in His name.
New Year blessings,
Forever His,
