How Do You Love The Unloveable?
Being Perfect
Matthew 5:43-48
"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies[b] and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Have you tried to love someone that is just not loveable? Have you tried to be perfect like your heavenly Father?
Oh how hard it is to love someone that just keeps bullying you or who gossips about you, or gets angry with you and you just can't figure out why.
I wrote another devotion this morning, someone sure didn't like it, being humble is the title, may it spoke to them right at that moment. Well I'm here to lift up our heavenly Father whether others like it or not, how do we love someone like that? Read the passage above prayfully. We must put all our effort into being humble and loving others that just give us a hard time. I'm 44 and alot of people have given me so much of a hard time, at times.
Jesus says love our enemies, love those who persecute you, love others that are unloveable. Let's try no matter what, let's love, Jesus did, He even gave up His life because He loves us.
