When Will We Get It Right?

Hebrews 13:5-6

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
   "Never will I leave you;
      never will I forsake you."^[a] So we say with confidence,
   "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
      What can man do to me?"^[b]

Being Free

One day I was talking to my sister on the phone, we we're talking about money and how it can control our lives. When we we're talking she mentioned this verse and said "money is the root of all evil". Alot of us get this verse wrong, the love of money is the root of all evil.

When we love something we tend to make that the center of our lives. So, if we make Jesus the center of our lives this means we love Him. Anything we put before God is the most important thing to us. We do need money to survive, but greed can intrude really fast so we have to watch how we handle it, we have to watch how we use it, and how we boast.

Centering Our Lives

Jesus says " He will never leave us , nore foresake us" this is what we can look forward to, His love and His faithful ness. Devoting our lives to Him is what makes us whole, He is the center of us, of our lives and our walk with Him should be the most important thing ever. The love of many things seems to take our eyes off Him, but we have to read His word daily to be able to know the Truth and the Truth shall set us free.

Hi Betty.... wow, what a powerful message you have give here.. and so true.. our lives always centre on whatever we love most.. and sometimes we don't realise where that centre is until it's made plain to us.. as we often steer our main focus away from it if we know it isn't quite right.. but here you have spoken true and well.. may Jesus always be our focus and love......hugs, Alf

The encouragement you provide here is so appreciated & true.

I just had this thought yesterday; how money is the root of all evil & yes, the love of money is the way it should be said because it has the power to change people. I've always been humble for what I have - thanks for posting.

Thank You for covering us with Your mercy and grace, Lord God Almighty! We recount all the laws that come from Your mouth! We consider Your ways! We will not neglect Your Word! The church pure is the church powerful! Help us overcome evil with good! A lot of times we invite satan into our lives - help us stand up and out for You! You might not answer prayers the way we want, but You are all sufficient! Our flesh and heart may fail, but You are the strength of our heart and our portion forever! Your ways, O God are holy! What God is so great as our God? You are the God who performs miracles; You display Your power among the peoples! With Your mighty arm You redeemed Your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph!
